The 25 mile long Lough Derg is probably the best in Ireland, with huge shoals of quality bream, roach, hybrids, big pike and tench in quiet backwaters. Hire a boat, and you have the pick of the swims.

Below Derg, the scenic Lower Shannon region is ideal for family fishing holidays, and for sea angling. As a contrast to the big waters, the peaceful lakes of East Clare can be a joy.
