Sea Fishing Holidays in Norway
Iceland - rugged paradise,
the ultimate sea angling.
Iceland should really have been named
“Greenland” and vice versa... folklore
has it that the original settlers wanted it
all to themselves and thought the name
would put off other would-be settlers!!!
But now of course all are welcome.
This truly is a green and pleasant land,
with an interior of active volcanoes and
glaciers, and a rugged coastline with
countless sheltered fjords of crystal,
clear and vivid blue waters.
Iceland is still one of the best kept
secrets for fabulous sea fishing. A boat,
whether self use or skippered, gets you
to both prolific fishing and some very big
fish indeed. Only now are we discovering
the true potential of this most amazing,
vast and natural sea fishery. The Icelandic Government have rightfully
long protected this treasure trove of sea
fishing riches (remember the cod wars!).
Now the pleasure angler enjoys the full
benefit. Massive quantities, but also
huge fish.
Clients are now landing 20/30/40 pound
wolffish. Cod approaching 60 pounds,
and huge halibut to 400 pounds plus!!!
Yes Icelandic waters have huge stocks
and some very big fish too. You can even
head out with Gunni a most experienced
and friendly skipper and land those huge
Greenland Shark, fish which regularly
exceed one thousand pounds!!!
